The puppy and the kitten at home – What do you need to know?

A new pet in the house usually means great joy, but also a great organizational challenge. How to prepare well to receive a puppy or a pooiahing so that the adaptation period is so much lacking both for us and for them?

Often, the decision to take a new pet is a trial for months, in which we choose the right breed for ourselves and we are looking for a good farm. Sometimes, the process consists in the search for the special quadruped of many inhabitants of shelters and assistance associations. The decision should always be well thought out and you have to prepare both adequately and the house itself for the arrival of the new tenant. Which accessories are needed when you get to a puppy or kittens, what should be nourished, which toys are safe and which snack can they receive such a girl? These are just some of the many questions that those who decide to take a pet.

What accessories for puppies and kittens?

If the moment approaches when the animal arrives in its new home, it is worth providing the necessary accessories. The first cloves for the puppy should not be an expensive investment and you must be prepared that it will quickly be «eaten». The place of the bed in the house is quite important and should be in a quiet space, from which you can see most of the house, which will provide comfort both the cat and the dog. Often, the new tenant quickly controls the position of the bed chosen by us and we must move it where the quadruped likes to sleep. In the case of dogs or cats that go for walks, a leash will be requested. To begin with, the traditional leash will be suitable, not the automatic leash, because the animal will barely learn to enter. For this, straps or collars will be useful, but I do not recommend too tight that it can cut when the dog or cat pull a leash. The skin or straps will be the most suitable. It is definitely avoiding metal, because they are heavy and are often not adjustable. At the collar or straps, it is worth putting a medallion or personalized addresses, and the animal to be put on chips, because small curious often like to disappear from under the eyes, even for a second of inattention. You certainly need at least two bowls, one for water and the other for food. The best are the metal and ceramic ones. The most important, however, is that they are stable, because the curious little one will want to overturn with pleasure. It is also worth buying a bowl for bowls, to facilitate hygiene around them. Another essential accessory is the brush or comb, which will help you keep the animal fur in good condition and protect your home from omnipresent traces. It is important that the care accessories correspond to the type and length of the hair of pets.

How do we prepare the house for puppies and kittens?

The house must be prepared for the arrival of the new quadruped tenant by removing the possible dangers within the dog’s or kitten range. The most dangerous are the cables on the floor, which unfortunately the little ones love to bear. If possible, hide them behind the furniture or put them in a place away from small teeth. The second important aspect are the plants we have at home. Make sure those you have are not poisonous with dogs or cats. Small and curious animals often eat things that are not only not edible, but that can be dangerous for them. In the case of cats, the main threat is any type of tape, wires or threads. In the case of dogs, those who arouse the most interest are socks, socks, shoes and toys for children. It is necessary to limit the access of small and expert animation as much as possible to these articles.

In the case of dogs, we must prepare for house cleaning lessons. The most important thing is to arm yourself with a lot of patience and dedicate a lot of work, but you can also use a litter for dogs available on the market and have a large replacement of absorbent rugs and paper towels. Another aspect of the dog’s hygiene is the bathroom: if the chicken is cured and has no problems with fur, it should not be wet as long as possible, even a few months after birth. On the contrary, if we take the chicken in a bad condition in which it must be washed, you have to use shampoo for dogs, since they have a more delicate formula than preparations for adult dogs.

Keeping cleaning in kittens may seem easier than dogs. The Pisions instinctively begin to use the litter if he satisfies their conditions. Theoretically, in the litter must adapt to the bed where the cat can make its physiological needs and the edges of the litteriera should be as high as possible to prevent the content. The best solution is a closed liter in which the cat has privacy and the litter has no way of pouring, even if the cat is intense. However, in the case of small kittens, it is worth starting to remove the door, to make it easier to learn to use this litter. Natural wooden pellets are the safest for small kittens, because sometimes it likes to eat from bed linen and, in the case of bentonite litter, it can lead to constipation or even block the digestive system. The position of the litter is very important, it must be in a quiet place where the cat will not be exposed to the «drunk» eyes of the tenants. The details relating to the position or form of the liter, which at first glance may seem trivial, can lead to the problematic situation in which our pet to make their needs in another place. It is also important to have more than one litter than we have cats: this will increase the comfort of the beds and help us avoid unpleasant surprises.

In the case of cats, it is worth buying a conveyor in which you will be able to transport your cat safely, also for visits to the veterinary office. Another necessary element is the strong support of claws, because its presence will increase the possibility of protecting our furniture from damage. There are currently market supports that form real games for cats, however, it is important that they are stable, that cats do not affect if such a tower is canceled.

What food is suitable for dogs and kittens?

When we take the animal from a professional farm, it is usually between 8-12 weeks and is no longer a small stupid. However, weaning from the mother often transporting and changing the place of living room is very stressful for a growing small. It is worth finding which food received the chicken until then, and in the first 2-3 weeks to continue giving it the same food, to avoid his stress linked to the change of food. Exceptions are the situations in which we take the animal from a place where its nutrition was very negative, for example, has received only the remains of the food – so the food must be changed immediately. After the accommodation period, you can gradually change the food with one to meet your expectations. However, you should remember to be food for dogs and junior cats, and in the case of dogs, to be suitable and according to the dog’s target size, especially in the case of large and huge breeds, which grow intensely. If you take care to buy good quality food, supplements are not needed.

Which snacks do we choose for puppies and kittens?

The owners often ask for goodies that their dogs and kittens can receive. They are very useful, especially in the case of the training of young dogs. However, there are not many snacks adapted to junior on the market and their quality sometimes leaves to be desired. An alternative is the use of dry foods with which the animal feeds. It is possible to calculate 10% of the daily dose to be used for prizes during training.

Finally, it must be said that one of the most important things we have to have is the Quadruped medical card. Thanks to it, we will know what has been administered so far and when we have to return to a visit to the veterinary office. If the quadruped does not have such a card, contact the veterinarian immediately to plan the following phases of the prophylaxis of the disease and parasitic prevention.
