Scratch antiparasites, ticks or drops pills: what remedy do we choose to prevent ticks in the dog?

Currently, the mint season is actually throughout the year, but the maximum activity of these parasites takes place at the end of spring and the beginning of autumn. Therefore, your pets are now the most vulnerable to the bick bites, which wear dangerous diseases and weaken the body. You can save your dog suffering and protect it with the available, safe and efficient preparations. But how do you choose a remedy for the right anti-pozzi for your pet?

The choice is very large and the ways of administering each drug are varied. There are spot-on drops, skin spray, cavostyte scratches and parasitic pills. You have to be careful to choose the preparation based on the age, health and size of the animal, as well as if it is administered to the dog or cat.

He falls against the ticks

The most popular are the drops applied on the neck of various types, for dogs and cats containing toxic substances for insects, but safe for our animals. Advix preparations are an example. You can choose preparations from one or more components, the latter are generally more effective. To ensure the correct absorption of the drug, it is not recommended to bathe to your pet 3 days before and after dripping. We select the preparation in a dose suitable for weight and, after carefully separating the fur, we apply it directly to the skin of the head (to prevent the animal from licking the preparation) and in larger dogs, along the spine. The substance is absorbed and spreads throughout the skin through the blood vessels. In the case of falls, their regular application is very important, because they have an effect only for 4 weeks and even a few days late in the administration can lead to a mint and the risk of diseases transmitted by ticks.

Unfortunately, sometimes it happens that a cat owner will unconsciously manage cats prepared exclusively to dogs, who endanger the health and even the cat’s life due to the content of toxic substances for cats. Some preparations available in drops are also available in the form of spray, but it is necessary to read the instructions for use carefully, because they contain a low concentration of drugs and are mainly suitable for chickens, kittens and adults that weigh a few kilograms and, in the case of a shepherd dog, we should press the sprayer more than 100 times.

Antiparasitic collar

Another fairly popular form of protection is an antiparasitic collar for dogs. You can meet them in low -cost supermarkets, but act only as a repentance factor, with a rather weak effect and therefore does not provide adequate protection. The insecticides are, unfortunately, more expensive, but certainly deserves the price. Unlike the drops, it is not necessary to carefully follow the frequent application and their duration is between 5 and 8 months, depending on the type. They are quite effective even when the animal is exposed to a significant ticks attack. When choosing a collar, it is necessary to pay attention to age restrictions, combining depending on the weight or circumference of the dog’s neck, so as not to apply the animal too or too small. Often, producers recommend that the collar is designed shortly before the first use, so that the surface slightly walking facilitates the release of the active substance. The scratch must be suitable for the neck, but not too tight. Although in many cases there are no contraindications to wet the scratch, it is better to remove it before the bathroom, especially when the bathrooms often take place. The scratch should be kept clean, because it is much less effective if covered with a layer of dirt, so that you can easily clean it with wet gauze. Foredo scratches are the most popular and the manufacturer guarantees their efficiency.

Dog dogs antiparasite pills

A relatively new form of administration of substances against fleas and ticks are oral administration tablets in the form of aromatic snacks. It takes from 4 to 12 weeks depending on their type. They are quite efficient, but as in the case of drops, it is important to administer them regularly, so as not to create pauses in the action, which exposes our animal to the mint attack. I do not recommend using this type of tablet in animals with digestive system problems and, in the case of animals with liver failure or other diseases, consult a veterinarian before use. It should be remembered that the tablets are administered only according to the indications, i.e. that the disagreements for dogs can only be administered to dogs and only to a certain body weight and only for cats intended for cats.

Often the owners complain about the inefficiency of the preparation they use. There is no 100%effective remedy. We often interpret badly to find a check mark stuck on the skin as a sign that protection does not work. Basic drugs do not act as repentance, but as insecticide. The check mark often manages to penetrate the skin of the animal and only after consuming the insecticide blood dies in the skin. Only if you find one or more ticks powered considerably with blood, this can indicate that the preparation does not work well enough on your animal. In these situations, the owners often combine different measures and add them simultaneously, but it should be remembered that the administration of improper simultaneous drugs can damage our pet.

Protection against ticks is necessary not only to walk through forests and plains. The uninvited guests are waiting for us and our quadruns and the grass. Due to the fact that no form of protection is a total guarantee, it is worth checking the dog or cat fur after each walk and remove unwanted passengers. The correct prophylaxis in the case of ticks provides the protection of pets and their caregivers and protects them from the diseases transmitted by ticks.
