Savannah Cats are a very young race. Its great reproduction began only in the 90s. So far it has been fully recognized only by the International Cat Association (Tica), which has set the standard for this race. It is not recognized by FIFE.

The Savannah race was created in the idea of ​​reproducing a cat that looks like a wild savannah service, but with the arrangement of a domestic cat. The first hybrid was obtained in 1986 in the United States, crossing a servant with a Siamese female. The cat inherited his mother’s fur with points and the colorful fur of his father. Savannah cats are exceptionally large: males can weigh up to 12 kg. Their size depends on the degree of kinship with their wild descendants – the more they are closer, the greater the cat. These animals are slender, muscle, with unusually long limbs (the rear limbs slightly longer than the previous ones) and a medium length tail. They have a relatively small head, in the form of a conical triangle. The large, positioned ears are slightly rounded in the upper part. On the back they have colored spots in light calls calls, similar to a finger. Cats have medium -sized eyes (usually yellow or green), positioned under slightly prominent eyebrows. The large nose of the quadruped is equipped with wide nostrils.

Cats in this breed are very active. They have a strong hunting instinct, they are agile, nervous and they like them. They are also anxious to take a walk, so in the case of this breed it is worth buying adjustable harnesses and a long leash. At home, quadrupeds need a lot of space and adequate infrastructures, such as high shelves, Sisal pillars and pillars. It is also necessary to firmly protect the balcony with this breed.

Savannah cats are very friendly. Although they are not the type of cats to color in the womb of their custodian, they are strongly attached to it and manifest their affection spontaneously. They are faithful companions in the daily activities of their «man» and they cannot stand to detach themselves from him. It also works well in the company of other animals.
