The taste of the Pomeranians

The Pomeranian breed is part of the group of primitive dogs. These fun, soft and always smiling dogs once served as a barking guards. Despite the small size of the body, they have a very courageous spirit and a big heart.

Spitz dogs are the oldest dog breed in central Europe. There are 5 types of Spitz and Pomeranian is the smallest. It derives in a straight line from the peat dogs of the stone era and the subsequent dogs of Spitz, the Neolithic era. There are also voices such as the Spitz breed is extracted from the Nordic dogs, very hairy, brought by the Netherlands and Germany by the Vikings.

These dogs have appeared in large numbers in Pomerania, Saxony and the Netherlands. In Pomerania their growth began, then the name – Pomeranian. From the end of the century. XVI and the beginning of the century. XVII, the specimens of the Pomeranian breed have become typical dogs of the company. They were popular in Poland before the Second World War, after that their number fell drastically, as well as interest in them.

Physiognomy, Pomerania breed standard

According to the standard, the body weight of an adult pomegranate should not exceed 3 kg and the height to the assistant should be between 18 and 22 cm. In the case of the Pomeranian breed, there is no sexual dwelling: men and females do not differ significantly.

The silhouette of a Pomeranian falls to a square. The short trunk is placed on the straight and parallel limbs. The medium -sized head, in the form of an inclined triangle, has little aspect of fox, with an elongated muzzle. These dogs are proud, with the head. The eyes are dark in color. The ears are visibly triangular, raised and placed side by side. The neck is of medium length, with a very rich collar. The tail is his business card, thrown on his back, positioned.

The hair of the Pomerania breed is very dense, double stratified. It should not be separated, nor with the visible path. Hair on the head, the ears and feet is more glued and shorter than the rest of the body. Hair cannot be created or wavy. Any fur color is allowed. Care of the Pomeranian breed

The Pomeranian is a demanding dog when it comes to fur care. It consists of two layers, with a large amount of soft substrate, even wool and long hair, rough and often. A daily comb is recommended with a metal comb with narrow teeth or a special brush. You have to reach the brush deeper in the fur, to reveal the hair next to the skin. To maintain the fur in good condition and to minimize hair loss, it is necessary to regularly cut the dog, or remove the dead hair. The bathrooms should take place about once a month and you have to comb the dog long before and after washing and then dry it. The Pomeranians are not suitable to be shaved or cut too much. The shampoo for Pomeranian should be for the volume and for easy combing. These procedures can contribute to skin conditions and also make the fur harder. After shaving, the hair grows like wool, it is difficult to take care and sometimes the dog only grows the hair in a very irregular way. For this reason, the current fashion for the Pomeranian whistle is quite dangerous. Pomeranian hair is not suitable for a cutting cut – once done, it will have to be continued, otherwise the hair will grow badly and the comb will be a torment for both sides.

The Pomeranian fur collects all the leaves, twigs and grass very easily during walks. After each shipment, you should clean it well and brush the dirt. At least twice a year, the Pomeranian is located, a period in which his hair can be found everywhere in large quantities. Dogs lose their hair more often and stronger, very often after heat or fetus. At this moment, you have to arm yourself with a good brush and with great patience. Due to the regular care of the beautiful Pomeranian fur, it will be maintained in good, dense and lucid conditions.

Pomeranian health

The average life expectancy of a Pomeranian is between 12 and 16 years old.

Due to two -layer fur, the Pomeranians are resistant to weather conditions. It resists well at high and lower temperatures. However, they are not suitable as dog dogs, in the summer they must be supplied shaded and in winter the pillows of the legs must be protected.

The Pomeranian is subject to different diseases, mainly of the skin and heart. Of genetically conditioned skin diseases, the main is Alopecia X, which causes sudden hair loss on the limbs, body and tail of the dog. The disease is a little studied and there is still no defined treatment plan. A symptom that can indicate the onset of the disease is the lack of change of fur from the puppy to the adult (which usually happens at the age of 4-5 months). Another skin disease that affects the Pomeranian is fragile and atopic dermatitis. A congenital defect of the heart that is often found in the Pomeranians is the persistence of the arterial canal, which causes the overload of the circulatory system and, consequently, hypoxia of the whole body.

Other diseases commonly encountered in Pomeranian are the disputes and dislocation of the pine trees, the crashed trachea, diabetes, cryptarchidia and hyperparathyroidism.

The growth of the Pomeranians has become very popular in Poland. Their price is very high and depends on the results of the puppy’s parents. The Pomeranian costs from 3,500 Ron to 10,000 Ron! Before choosing a farm, check it carefully not to take a dog from insecure genetic defects.

Pomeranian Caracter

The Pomeranian is extremely attached to its caregivers and the strongest connection is established with the first person chosen. There are very devoted dogs, which need a lot of affection. They like to be the center of attention and often ask for it. The lack of a developed hunting instinct means that the pomegranate is understood well with dogs, dogs and other species of animals. He likes the company of people of all ages, but because of the small size, you should be careful during the game, especially with children. Children and the elderly can accidentally hurt small dogs, crush or use too much strength.

The Pomeranians are very careful and cautious towards strangers. He will react to any noise and uncertain situation with a strong barking. Despite the fact that the Pomeranian feels good in small apartments in the cities, has a high dose of energy. If he does not play enough with him and does not satisfy his behavioral needs (socializing), he will tighten and pull to every interesting object during walks. Due to the fact that these dogs like to play, work and collaborate with its custodian, they are perfect for sport as agility. They will also suffer the role of Guardian and small hunters of rodents and insects. The Pomeranians learn quickly, but they need consistency in it, because they are primitive dogs with a greater amount of independence. They are social dogs, cheerful and lively.
