This mastiff, originally from Spain, is considered one of the largest breeds of dogs in the world. It reaches a negligible dimension, which helped her in antiquity to defend the flocks of animals, families and their goods. The Spanish mastiff belongs to the category of mountain dogs and is adapted to any land and conditions. Some can be disturbed by its strong character, but also by the fact that they went up a lot.
History of the Spanish Mastiff Race
Mastiffi are races of very elderly dogs and the Spanish mastiff is no different. From the first century AD, the historian and writer Roman Pliniu has mentioned the Iberian mastiffs – known today as the Spanish mastiff – in his works. These were dogs that acted as guard dogs and protectors, both families and entire properties and houses. They were appreciated for their ability to protect floral flocks and other animals. Predators with ferocity and courage were addressed, regardless of weather conditions.
Previously, these dogs arrived in a diversity of fur and only in the twentieth century there were two breeds the Spanish mastiff officially distinct with short hair and long -haired pyrina.
The Spanish Mastiff dog received the number 91 of the standard in 1946 and was included in Group II – Pinscher, Schnauzer, Molosser, Swiss mountain dogs and in section 2 – Molossers and mountain dogs with «Mountain» subsection.
The Spaniards were involved in creating another Molosser breed, Braziliro Tab.

The legs are relatively small. The dog’s tail is long and thick on all its length, usually falling slightly. The head of the Spanish mastiff is very large, strong, positioned on the dense and huge neck, equipped with a double jaw. The eyes are small and the ears are pending and triangular.
The typical way of traveling the race is trot.
The color of the Spanish mastiff’s fur
The Spanish mastiff is available in almost all colors. However, people with yellow, black, brown, brown or spots are the most appreciated.
The fur of these copies of the mastiff is dense and thick. It has an average length.
Mastiff Spanish – character
The Spanish Mastiff dog is a proud and courageous representative of Molosser. It seems to understand the power of its size and the strength of its jaws, which does not make it offensive or conflict in relations with other dogs. For his family and for the people he knows, he is kind and calm. However, meeting and playing with children should always be under the control of parents and it is not recommended to leave them alone with children or other animals. For strangers – he is not a believer.
The Spanish mastiff needs a safe and balanced teacher to guide him and give him clear signals. A dog in this breed will not feel good as a dog to the first experience or as a pet for people who are not already familiar with the needs of behavior and dog. When you decide a Spanish mastiff puppy, it is advisable to find a nursery school in advance to record your dog. These nurseries will allow the puppy to socialize and learn to respond correctly to other dogs and how to correct emotions correctly, while the caregivers will learn to give clear signals and form a healthy connection.
Price Dog Mastiff Spanish
The dogs of this breed have a relatively high value on cynological markets. The price of a Spanish mastiff FCI Mastiff varies between 5,000 and 6,000 Ron. When you decide to become the master of a Spanish mastiff, be sure to control the legality of the chosen canis! In the case of Molosser dogs, the purity of reproduction and the correctness of the growth activity are particularly important. Any disorder in the growth process affects the character, stability and the correct response of dogs to stimuli. A Spanish mastiff from a pseudo-Christian or a custodian who uses incorrect growth methods can be dangerous.
The monthly maintenance costs for a dog in this breed are also increased, reaching up to 600 Ron. The dog needs a solid dose of high biological high quality foods, as well as regular training under the supervision of some professionals. If a Spanish mastiff gets sick, the cost of his treatment can reach thousands of roni.
