They could not be marketed. Lhasa APSO could only be given as a sign of gratitude. They arrived in Europe due to the English colonel Bailey. In 1928, he received dogs from the monks from a Tibetan temple. Five years later, a race club was established in the United Kingdom and their growth began. Within the Kennel International Federation, Lhasa APSO is classified in the dogs of the IX – Ornamental and Company group and in section 5 – Tibetan breeds. The standard number 227 was assigned to him.

The rich fur requires an accurate bathroom. A regular battery is recommended, on average once a month, daily brushing and weekly hairstyle. Suspended ears require greater care. They should be regularly clean and hair should be removed from them.
