Cocker English Spain – History of the Race
Cocker English Spain is a race included in the classification of the International Chinological Federation. It was included in Group VIII – Waterpower and Water Dogs and Section 2 – FLUSHING DOGS. I was given the standard number 5. The English breed English cocker is known for a long time. You can read about these dogs, among others, in the works of Geoffrey Chaucer in the fourteenth century or 16th century pieces of William Shakespeare.
Even if the country of the breed is the United Kingdom, these dogs come from Spain. They appeared in England with its Spanish owners who visited the English aristocracy. The latter received them as a gift or purchased them. The initial purpose of the breed was to help hunters frighten hunting birds. They were also very good in the rabbit hunt and in other small hunting species.
The Cocker Spaniel English and Springer Spaniel English races were initially considered equivalent. In 1902 the first officially separated standard for Cocker Spaniel was issued, which gave light separate reproduction lines for these breeds. But here the difficulties in the recognition of British dogs Spaniel Doger do not end. Due to the growing popularity of these quadrupeds, in the 20th century in the United States, the growth of dogs began by the so -called American type. What differ from the English type? The American variety was slightly smaller. Contrary to English, less attention was paid to their usefulness and more to the values of the exhibition. Since 1946, the American and English varieties have been recognized as separate races. Thus the breeds were distinct: American Spaniel Cocker and English Spaniel Cocker

Cocker English Spain – Behavoral and character
Cocker English Spain is a delicate dog. It is extremely cheerful, energetic, bold and curious. He likes comforts. In addition, it is very affectionate, communicative and abundant. When it is happy, it gives not only the tail, but also from the whole rear side. However, it can be quite stubborn, especially when they are chickens. Therefore, education is very important and this should start from tender age. The dogs in this race are very intelligent. They quickly include what requirements are placed. The learning of a Spaniel Cocker must be firm, coherent and delicate.
Cocker English Spain has great adaptability, thanks to which they can be found in different situations. They will adapt well to a person who likes to spend active time. They will be a good race for a family with children who can play continuously. Due to the strong attachment to their masters, these dogs don’t like to be left alone. Tolerates the solitude enough enough, for which they must be well prepared in advance. Otherwise, they can have destructive behavior (destroy internal accessories) and sometimes they tend to bark too intense. Cocker English Spain, despite its nature as a hunter, will rarely follow the prey. It is considered the least inclined to the race (of all hunting breeds). However, in the case of a possible escape, it is recommended to be equipped with a pendant with address or chip.
A very interesting theme is the attitude of the customers of this race towards foreigners. Spanish English cocker of uniform color will be an excellent courtyard guardian. He will quickly warn you when an unwanted visitor arrives. In addition, he is quite possessive towards the members of his human family. It will be kept away from strangers who visit it. The situation differs in the case of Doger dogs in two and three colors. These quadrupeds are decidedly more friendly. They will welcome guests with joy and enthusiasm. A representative of this correct socialized and educated breed is able to understand each other well with another dog, or even with a cat. If you intend to have more than one pet in the house, it is better to take the specimens from an early age. Increase together will have a much better impact on subsequent relationships. A good idea will be the courses of the dog’s nursery school.

They can also develop hip dysplasia and family nephropathy (kidney disease). Sometimes food and contact allergies appear. It supports high and low temperatures well.
The key treatment for the treatment of an English cocker is regular brushing. Her hair falls all year round, in particular spring and autumn. So the dog should be brushed every day. Apart from the periods of intense coupling, it must be brushed on average once a week. Cocker English Spain is greedy. Therefore, all snacks used during training or administered for diversification of the diet should be included in the daily energy requirement. It is not a pretentious animal for food. He would gladly take something from the master’s plate, but you don’t have to afford it. Meals can be prepared at home based on the barf diet or dry food, but it is important to be of high quality and guarantee all the nutrients necessary for adequate development. During the day, it should have two meals and, before each one, the rest should be provided for about an hour.
Cocker English Spain is not pretentious in terms of home. It can live in an apartment as long as its daily results are provided. And it’s not just about walks. He must spend time outside in such a way as to satisfy his greater need for movement. You cannot forget the interactive games in the house, which will have an impact on his psychic condition. Due to the hunting nature, it needs various stimuli. That’s why it is worth equipping it with interactive games

It is better to choose English Cocker hens that come from coaches recorded at FCI. They will cost several thousand of her. Prices start from almost 4,000 Ron and can reach over 5,000 Ron. On sale, they also discover that they are much cheaper, but most likely they come from pseudo-coreers. By choosing such chicken, you will not be sure to what extent the model will play or if it is not subject to any genetic disease.
