This is particularly true for the elderly or for children, but our dogs should be subjected to special care during this period. For a dog, heat can be not only unpleasant, but also dangerous. The water during heat is not a rescue just for humans and dogs will have the opportunity to cool down in a dog pool or in a garden shower during the heat. If we have enough space in the garden, we can prepare some water corners for both dogs and people – even herbal sprinklers are enough to create fresh and corroborating fog in this space. However, do not forget to control the water game and regular, for example, the amount of water in the pool depending on the size and ability of your dog. No dog like to swim, so it’s a good idea to adapt water to your dog’s preferences. For some, an easy shower is enough to give them a pleasant feeling of coldness. Let’s not forget not to encourage our dog to run on the wet grass, which even for a dog can be too slippery, and therefore it is easy to be injured.

If we do not have a garden, we can look for places in the neighborhood where the dog can swim (if he likes it and can do it) or at least he can wet his legs. However, we must make sure that entering the water is delicate (in no case should we throw the dog into the water from a platform, for example!) And that the water is clean (think if you have wet). Do not forget, however, that in most people for humans, access to dogs is not allowed, but you can look for «friendly for dogs» places. And, of course, the same rule is applied here as in the case of small children or the elderly – they do not go to the pool at noon, that is, when the sun is at the highest levels.

At least one longer walk should be a mandatory everyday climax. For the dog, this is a very important point. However, let’s not forget to walk early in the morning, when it’s not hot, or in the evening, late enough. To adapt walks to your dog’s shape and mood – do not forget that in the evening, after a hot day, it can be tired and does not want to be active or play. A calm and longer ride is sufficient.

3. Toys with cooling effect for dogs – perfect for the heat

Regardless of whether it is hot or less hot, red toys are always effective. It is worth taking advantage of it and giving your dog a chewing object that not only keeps it busy, but also cools it, such as the cooling bone cooling bone or other dog cooling accessories (cooling carpet, a cooling band or even a vest). We can also take advantage of the refreshing aspect by preparing the ice cream for your dog.

Refreshing toys or ice cream not only work as well as activity, but will help us feed our dog, which can have a lower appetite than that usually during the heat. Bagnate foods frozen in the form of ice cream on an olfactory carpet, it will be a much more attractive food.

These are a real threat to the health and even the life of pets, which is why it is so important to know how to take care of your dog during the heat.
