The chameleon is widely known for its ability to perfectly camouflage in its surroundings, taking on any color. This property made a frequent hero of stories and cartoons for children. However, it is worth knowing more, especially if we plan to live together under the same roof.

Who is the right chameleon for?

The chameleon is a reptile that, through its colors, through the mimic, through the long language and through the eyes that move independently from each other, also delights those who are not passionate about other species of reptiles. Because it is truly an extraordinary animal – and above all, the number of varieties of colors is dizziness. However, it is important to know that it is not a suitable animal for everyone. It is a very delicate and pretentious reptile – and, moreover, it doesn’t like … contact with people. Therefore, before deciding to buy a chameleon, you should know his needs and requirements.

Domestic Chameleon – species

Among the most popular Chamaleons grown up in the United States are the Pantera Chameleon and the Velo Chameleon, but the list of reptiles in the Chameleon family has about 200 species! Each chameleon has different reproduction requirements, which may vary considerably from one to the other, so it is better to guide you rather than require rather than when you choose one.

Each chameleon needs a large terrarium, preferably in a tropical, well ventilated, with adequate temperature and humidity.

Below are the requirements of two of the most popular chameleons: the Velo chameleon and the chameleon panther.

Truck with veil (Chamaeleo Calypttus)

Some of the most colorful of all chameleon species, especially when it comes to males, which can have colors such as green, red, blue, orange, yellow, white, turquoise, brown and pink. These chameleons reach a size of about 35 cm in females and 55 cm in males.

Humidity: About 50-60% during the day and 80% in the night.
