Such a house, mounted at the right time, will surely satisfy the bird family and will allow us to be closer to nature. How to choose the bird’s boxes for birds, when you hang the nursery rods and what size should you have the nursery rods: we will try to answer these questions today.

Whether we hang the nursery boxes for birds near the house or in the garden, the first and probably the most important thing we should be careful when the choice of a box is its size. There are many different boxes available on the market and each with a different purpose. Due to the search for a famous ornithologist – Professor Jan Sokołowski, the principles of construction of bird nests were established by the period between the two 20 -year wars. Below is a brief summary of the types of nesting that we can meet.

1. Type A – 33 mm hole size

A type B nursery box will be suitable for the stars and, moreover, they are not territorial birds, so a type B box can also be hung in two on a tree – does not care about approaching other birds. As for the position, the sturgeons do not cause us any problem: the wall of the house, young and old trees. They will be happy anywhere, but they will not forget that, so that the Sturgeon move, the box must appear in our garden in early spring.

4. Type D – Blessing Dimensions 85 mm

The type D boxes have the highest possibilities of being inhabited by hammers, blue pigeons and also by pernici, if it is reduced to 55 mm opening. These should be hung rather at the top – over 5 meters. The tree with such a box should be fixed with a so -called antipriver collar, because there is a risk that the marțafo will enter such a large box.

This is the largest type of nest. It is designed for mountain owls, parasites with the golden eye, ducks and wild ducks, as well as for beer, provided that you hang it in a relatively open area. A type box and should be suspended 8-12 meters from the ground. It should also be fixed with an on -board collar.

6. Type P – Semi -light Box

The semi-open box will be particularly popular for welcoming. This box is also suitable for honey.

The nesting box for honey – what height do we hang it?

For honey, the most suitable box will be a semi-open box. However, it should be noted that this type does not protect the birds from predators, so it is worthwriting. A way to do it is to hang it 2-3 meters high, on a resistant wire, so that it can oscillate in the air. In addition, one meter under the box and one meter above it, it is advisable to place a metal protective collar. In addition, near the entrance of the box, it is possible to install special barbed wire protections or branches with tips. We can also opt for power supplies with a protective network.

How to make a cassetta of the nest?

When you build nests for birds, do not forget, first of all, their size – the opening too small will let the birds enter and may not move at all. A too large opening, on the other hand, will involve inadequate protection against predators, as well as too deep bird box. A refuge for birds too deep will become a chicken trap.

Therefore, bird shelters should have an adequate size:

1. Type A The height of the 25 cm front panel, the height of the 27 cm rear panel, 13×13 cm at the base, 15 cm from the base to the entrance and entrance diameter of 3.5 cm (2.7 cm of type A1).
